Challenge Fund

If you are a researcher seeking to tackle extreme poverty in one of DEEP’s focus countries, then the DEEP Challenge Fund could be for you.

Since 2024, we have been inviting individuals and organisations in some of our focus countries to bid for research grants.

We are most interested in research ideas that can strengthen national strategies and policies to end poverty. Our goal is to fund research with real-world impact, so we want to understand how your studies could lead to meaningful change and – ultimately – help people live free from poverty.

We work closely with local decision makers and researchers in each country where the Challenge Fund operates. Together, we make sure our chosen projects reflect national priorities, fill current evidence gaps and move countries closer to tackling the root causes of poverty.
