How do secure land rights, credit and extension services interact to reduce poverty?
Mkupete Jaah, Doris Macha, Jehovaness Aikaeli
This study examines the effectiveness of Tanzania’s Productive Social Safety Net (PSSN) in alleviating multidimensional poverty, using a mixed-methods approach that combines statistical analysis of the results of the 2022 Tanzania Demographic and Health Survey (TDHS) with analysis of qualitative data from interviews and focus group discussions in Tabora Region. The results reveal that multidimensional poverty is concentrated among female-headed households, rural communities, and the western regions of Tanzania.
