Study protocol: An evidence gap map on extreme poverty reduction in Madagascar
The objectives of this evidence gap map (EGM) are to provide an overview of the existing evidence on extreme poverty in Madagascar and to identify key evidence gaps.
To meet these objectives, the EGM will identify, describe, and summarise evidence related to: (i) the drivers of extreme poverty in Madagascar; (ii) the effectiveness of interventions aimed at addressing extreme poverty; (iii) the distribution of available evidence for different subpopulations living in extreme poverty or at risk of falling into it; and (iv) the regional distribution of available evidence.1
The EGM will inform priorities for future research commissioned by the Data and Evidence to End Extreme Poverty (DEEP) programme, a seven-year programme funded by the UK Global Research and Technology Development. It will also serve as a public resource to assist policymakers, academics, and civil society actors in identifying evidence related to extreme poverty reduction in Madagascar.
